Checking In
Hello, it's me, back from a very long hiatus. I've been VERY BUSY. You know, that kind of busy where you put your life on hold to get the job done. Well here are some highlights from the first quarter...
In January I did a book signing at the Craft & Hobby Association Trade Show in my backyard of Anaheim, CA. At the Lion Brand Yarn booth, they had a display by fiber artist extraordinaire, London Kaye. She hand crocheted this amazing mural on the side of the booth and check out those amazing shoes! London has a really incredible body of work including a billboard installation she did in Times Square for Miller Lite.
Next up, I've been working on a new book of boot liners & leg warmers. We did two photo shoots in Old Towne Orange with 3 beautiful models and the talents of photographer Misty Matz.
Next, I was off to the Mile-High City, Denver, to shoot a video class for Craftsy. My producer Kari (top center) and the whole Craftsy crew were so great to work with. The class is Essential Skills for Circular Knitting and it covers all of the basic skills necessary to work in the round geared toward newbie knitters. I often hear comments about my boot liner patterns of "I really want a pair of these, but I don't know how to knit in the round". If you are of that mindset, this class is designed to show you just how easy it is work circularly, even if you're still honing your skills as a knitter. The class launches on April 25th, and I'm giving away a FREE CLASS to celebrate. Just click on this link, and you will be registered for the give away. I will notify the winner via email on 4/25.
And finally, I will be in the Marketplace at VKL Pasadena this year. I'll have kits, patterns and other fun stuff, including the ever-so-entertaining Wendy Bernard signing her new book, The Knitting All Around Stitch Dictionary on Saturday, 5/14 from 12:30-1:30 pm.
I may have been off the grid for a while, but I have some GREAT GIVE-AWAYS coming up over the next few weeks. Yes, that's right, FREE STUFF, so stay tuned...
