Central Park Hat & Slouchy Beanie Kits

Central Park Hat & Slouchy Beanie Kits

Introducing a fun new kit...the Central Park Hat!  We just returned from Vogue Knitting Live NYC where we sold hundreds of hat kits at our Build-A-Hat station.  It was so inspiring to see all of the fun color combinations knitters came up with.

When putting together hat kits, it's so much fun to pick colorways for the samples, but it's also very difficult to narrow it down, considering all of the great color choices for Weepaca.  So even though we have a couple of pre-packaged colorways available, we want to encourage you to build-a-hat on your own.  Here's how it works:

1.  Pick a style - Central Park Hat has a wide folded brim, and Central Park Slouchy Beanie has a much shorter brim that does not fold, but is longer on the top to create the "slouch".  The pattern comes with directions for both, but the yardage required is slightly different, only for the larger size, (most women will fit the smaller size.)  If you are building your own kit, you need to purchase the pattern separately here.

2.  Select your colors - You need 3 colors: (A) ground, (B) trees & (C) sky.  For the smaller size in both styles, you need 1 skein in each of the 3 colors.  For the larger size, the Hat requires 2 skeins of color A, and 1 skein each of B & C, while the Slouchy Beanie requires 1 skein each of A & B, and 2 skeins of C.

3.  Pom-poms?  You will have enough yardage left to make a yarn pom-pom...a solid-color pom in color B, or a mixed color pom of any of the other colors.  There is a tutorial in the pattern for making pom-poms, and we also carry the Clover Pom-Pom Maker.  OR you may want one of our fabulous XL Real Fur Pom-Poms.  These are unbelievably soft and fluffy, and we carry them in colors that coordinate with the Weepaca colors.

These hats are great fast projects and so fun to wear!
